The Routt Family- A Legacy Session
Elizabethtown, KY I love Elizabethtown. There's soo many beautiful locations and each one has it's own personality. I just recently discovered this little spot at the Veterans Nature Park and I'm hooked. I'm not sure if it's the winding drive that you take to get to the field area or if it's the trails. It's just pretty.
Kentucky is kind of tricky about planning fall sessions in my opinion. I had referenced several fall foliage predictions here in Hardin County when selecting the dates for our Elizabethtown, KY family mini sessions. It said that October 28th was going to be the "perfect time." So, of course I made my plans around that information. The date was set. Well, a week before the sessions the weather showed 100% chance of rain. Sooo... trying to be a planner, contacted all of my families to setup alternative days.
NATURALLY, that Saturday was completely clear in E-town and we totally could have had family pictures. Hardin County definitely didn't get rain that day. THANKFULLY, I was still able to photograph the Routt Family's photos, and boy was it fun.
The Routt Family came to me five years ago, and I literally had just started by business. I was so beyond excited that a family wanted ME to be their photographer. I've had the privilege of being their family's photographer since then. So blessed. This time of year always gets me sentimental; I've photographed them at Saunders Springs, Downtown Elizabethtown, Freeman Lake, and now the Nature Park. I try to think about what we've done in the past and try to find somewhere new to them. I love it, since we now have different locations for different years.
The Nature Park did not disappoint. Beautiful leaves to compliment this family's colors. Love it!
